Overview

Senior Software Engineer to help build a cloud-native data processing platform. You design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Scala for data ingestion, transformation, and analytics across AWS and GCP. You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, observability, and secure cloud integrations.

You'll mentor engineers, participate in reviews, and push for high-quality, well-documented code. This role offers impact in shaping a scalable data platform within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsabilidades Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Scala

Build distributed data-processing systems for large-scale workloads

Develop integrations with AWS and GCP cloud services

Implement secure authentication/authorization with cloud-native identity services

Build and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and analytics

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements

Ensure reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence

Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed,



cloud-based environments

Develop and execute testing strategies (unit, component, integration)

Requisitos principales Strong proficiency in Scala and sbt

Solid functional programming knowledge

Experience with JSON handling (Circe)

Hands-on AWS and/or GCP experience

Knowledge of IAM, STS, AssumeRole, WebIdentity

Experience with AWS SDKs (S3, STS)

Experience with Google BigQuery, Dataflow

Strong SQL skills and PostgreSQL experience

Experience with FS2, cats-effect

Familiarity with Google Pub/Sub

Testing experience (unit, component, integration)

Git and modern DevOps workflows

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Experience with Finagle or similar RPC frameworks

Knowledge of data pipeline orchestration/workflow tools

Kubernetes deployment and containerization familiarity

Building observable, resilient data processing systems

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills

Effective verbal and written communication
