FPI Contract Offer for Doctoral Thesis

BioXensors: Advanced 2D Xenes for Healthcare Biosensors A fully funded 4-year PhD position is available at the Chemistry Department, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), under the supervision of Dr. Jose Muñoz.

The Project:

The Doctoral Thesis will be carried out within the framework of the Spanish National Research Project PID2025-174881OA-I00: BioXensors.

The BioXensors project focuses on the synthesis, functionalization, and integration of emerging inorganic 2D materials (viz. 2D Xenes), and their subsequent implementation as electrochemical biosensors, with a particular emphasis on biomarkers related to Mental Health.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a strong interest in research and a willingness to engage in multidisciplinary training.





Applicants must hold an MSc in Chemistry, Nanoscience, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline. Previous experience in electrochemistry, nanomaterials, or inorganic synthesis is desirable. Good written and spoken English skills are required.
