Principal Software Engineer – AI‐Native Architecture Alicante, Spain (Hybrid 2–3 days in office required Context & Impact We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to operate at the intersection of deep technical expertise and cross‐functional leadership. It's for someone who has spent 10+ years building real intuition for how complex systems work — and who can now translate that into architectural direction, fast decisions, and meaningful influence across the organization. We expect all engineers to actively use AI tools to enhance productivity and quality across the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, documentation, and system design. Driving architectural clarity across a distributed systems platform built in Go and Rust Balancing speed, quality, and long‐term maintainability in an AI‐augmented development environment You will join an enthusiastic team of 40 engineers based in Spain (integral engineering team is 120 people). Act as a technical reference across engineering — and beyond, when needed Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a clear trajectory toward architecture and technical leadership Strong experience building distributed systems in Go and/or Rust in production environments Go and/or Rust (required) Deep understanding of data modeling, APIs, and service‐oriented architectures Hands‐on expertise running services on Kubernetes with GitHub‐based CI/CD Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB Practical experience using AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation Take ownership of engineering quality and long‐term maintainability Combine human judgment with AI‐driven acceleration to deliver high‐quality software In this role, you are expected to actively use AI‐assisted development tools such as Claude, code assistants, and agent‐based workflows as part of your daily engineering practice.





You should be comfortable guiding AI tools, validating outputs, and integrating AI into engineering workflows to improve speed and quality while maintaining production‐grade standards. The gross salary range for this role is €60,368 – €98,099 (EUR) (Spain) (based on full‐time employment).
