We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a very special team within Octopus Energy — the team responsible for building and scaling octopusenergy.We're looking for someone who thrives on solving real problems for real customers, who's comfortable owning frontend architecture end-to-end, and who's flexible enough to jump into different areas of the business as needed. Your focus will be primarily Frontend, but if you have an interest in Backend or a Fullstack mindset, that's a big plus. We call it the 'Octopus Effect' From building cutting-edge time-of-use tariffs to gamifying user experiences, we tackle a wide variety of exciting challenges to push the energy revolution forward.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer in this team, you will: Work closely with Octopus Energy ES and various global teams to develop and integrate new features. Contribute directly to the private area, bill management, saving sessions, customer onboarding optimization, and marketing dashboards, all from a frontend perspective.

Thrive in an agile culture: Be open to working across different areas of the business as priorities evolve, and optionally get involved in backend-related work (Python/Django, GraphQL) if you have the interest and skills to do so. Fluent spoken English is absolutely essential. The team is international, so English will be the language you use on a daily basis.

Strong, proven experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer, with a solid grasp of modern frontend architecture. Deep expertise in TypeScript and React. Hands-on experience with Next.js, ideally hosted on Vercel.

Experience working with GraphQL as a data layer. Comfort with CSS-in-JS solutions (experience with PandaCSS is a plus). Solid testing practices using tools like Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright. Interest or experience in Backend development, particularly Python (Django). Familiarity with PostgreSQL.

A Fullstack mindset: curiosity about the full picture, not just the frontend layer.
