As Structured Trade Finance Associate, you will design and execute complex trade-financing structures to support international commodity flows. You’ll work closely with Risk, Legal and Middle Office to secure deals and drive education and origination across Santander’s global network. You will develop sector expertise, contribute to product development, and help scale the trade-finance franchise within SCIB. Responsabilidades
- Lead end-to-end structuring and legal execution of structured trade deals, coordinating with Risks, Legal and Middle Office
- Perform due diligence including financial modelling, asset and reserve analysis, offtake contracts and annual reports, proposing optimizations
- Drive origination with team members and Relationship Managers across general offices
- Prepare detailed client presentations and pitches to capture opportunities
- Navigate structuring, accounting, risk and legal challenges through deal lifecycle
- Lead product development initiatives and manage internal product approvals
- Develop specialized commodities sector expertise to generate new ideas and client trust
- Collaborate with wider SCIB offerings (ECA-finance, Structured Finance, Markets) to integrate solutions
Requisitos principales
- At least 4 years of experience in structured trade finance, commodity finance or project finance
- Experience in law firms or accounting consultancies is valued
- English and Spanish fluency; additional languages a plus
- Knowledge of trade and commodity finance, export finance, or project finance
- Legal background, accounting expertise, and capital markets knowledge are advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
