The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, performance, and availability of database systems supporting business-critical applications and services. The role ensures that database platforms operate reliably, efficiently, and securely while meeting business, compliance, and service-level requirements. The DBA works closely with Software Engineers, System Administrators, DevOps Engineers, and Architects to support production and development environments through database monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, patch management, capacity planning, and troubleshooting. The role requires strong expertise in database technologies, operational excellence, automation, and data security practices.
