Role Description This full-time hybrid role is located in Málaga and focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining C++20 software solutions for Winterhalter España’s products and internal systems.
The C++20 Software Engineer will develop robust back-end components, optimize existing codebases, and ensure high performance, reliability, and security of applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, well-documented code, performing code reviews, debugging and resolving issues, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as product management, QA, and hardware engineering.
The role also involves contributing to architectural decisions, integrating software with existing infrastructure, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and staying current with modern C++ standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming with modern C++ (C++20), including experience building production-grade applications.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns applied to C++.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience working in on-site engineering teams and comfort collaborating in a multilingual, multicultural environment; good level of English.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the design and architecture of distributed, high-performance systems
- Work on modern C++ (C++17/20) codebases with a focus on clean, maintainable design
- Collaborate closely with engineers to shape microservices-based architectures
- Drive improvements in performance, scalability, and reliability
- Participate in technical discussions and architecture reviews
- Write robust,
testable, production-grade C++ code
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using Google Test (GTest)
Core Requirements
- Strong experience with modern C++ (C++11/14/17, ideally C++20)
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and system design
- Hands-on experience with microservices architectures
- Strong knowledge of C++ templates and template specialization
- Confident use of lambda expressions and modern C++ idioms
- Experience with unit testing frameworks, ideally Google Test (GTest)
- Experience working in collaborative teams using Git
Nice to Have (C++20+ & Advanced Topics)
- Familiarity with concepts and constrained templates
- Experience with asynchronous programming
- Knowledge of the ranges library
- Strong use of constexpr and compile-time programming
