Rarefied is a young, independent magazine with a curiosity for art, design, travel and contemporary culture.
We publish stories about people, places and objects that make us want to look a little closer. An artist working with an unexpected material, a hotel with its own peculiar charm, a conversation that changes how we see a familiar subject. Our selection is personal, and finding what to share is as much a part of our work as telling the story.
About the role
Perhaps you’re the person your friends ask for recommendations. Your saved folders are full of exhibitions, interiors and places you’ll find a reason to visit. You come across a designer you’ve never heard of and end up reading their entire website.

We’re looking for a curious intern with a strong visual eye and fluent English to join Rarefied in Barcelona through a
curricular university internship
.
You’ll work closely with our founders,
learning the everyday workings of an independent magazine and contributing to upcoming projects, including our first print edition.
Your work will combine editorial research, digital content and analytical thinking. You’ll help find people and stories to feature, develop our social presence and connect with a community interested in the things we publish.
What you’ll bring
- A strong visual sensibility and care for the small details.
- An active interest in art, design, culture and travel. We’d love to know what you’ve been discovering.
- Fluent written and spoken English. We work in English and Italian.
- Creativity and confidence with digital tools.
- An analytical approach: you’re interested in how content performs and what we can learn from it.
- Organisation, initiative and a willingness to put your ideas forward.
