Overview

In this role you contribute to the Securities Finance/Repo trading desk within Santander CIB, managing financing and liquidity across European Government Bonds and other fixed income securities. You will work closely with Trading, Sales and risk teams in a fast-paced, global market environment, building hands-on expertise in repo, collateral and relative-value dynamics. You are responsible for executing short-term repo transactions, monitoring market conditions, and supporting client financing needs. This position offers a clear path to develop trading responsibilities as market knowledge grows, with a focus on impactful client service and efficient balance-sheet use.

Responsabilidades

- Execute and manage short-term repo transactions across European Government Bonds (General Collateral and later Specials)
- Provide market levels and pricing indications for Sales and internal stakeholders
- Support Sales in client activity and respond to market/financing requests
- Monitor repo rates, liquidity,



market conditions, and supply/demand dynamics
- Contribute to client financing management and efficient use of balance sheet and collateral
- Identify and analyse relative value and funding opportunities across securities and maturities
- Monitor trading risks (market, liquidity, counterparty, settlement)
- Collaborate with Trading, Sales, Risk, Middle Office and Operations to ensure efficient execution
- Develop and improve analytical tools, data processes and trading workflows

Requisitos principales

- Previous experience or exposure to financial markets
- Experience in Trading is valued but not required
- Background in Sales, Risk, Middle Office, Treasury, Securities, Finance, Fixed Income or related functions
- Experience in fast-paced financial environment with stakeholder interaction

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure
- Proactive attitude and intellectual curiosity
- Good understanding of financial markets
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
