Overview

In this role you will lead and support a large DB2 for z/OS environment within a global DB2 Support Team. You will ensure availability, performance, integrity, and security across 50+ DB2 subsystems, collaborating with development, operations, and security teams. You’ll drive upgrades, DR planning, and strategic initiatives to optimize OLTP performance and reliability. Responsabilidades

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 for z/OS environments
- Support a large-scale enterprise DB2 infrastructure with multiple subsystems
- Plan and execute DB2 version upgrades, migrations, and maintenance implementations
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for DB2-based applications
- Ensure stability, integrity, availability, and performance of DB2 databases and supporting infrastructure
- Support and manage Distributed Data Facility (DDF) and distributed DB2 connectivity
- Maintain and optimize OLTP environments using CICS and DB2
- Monitor performance and implement tuning recommendations
- Develop, test, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure storage management, archiving, and retention processes
- Implement and manage database security controls and access governance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and infrastructure issues




- Collaborate with application teams on design, deployment, and problem resolution
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
- Maintain database and monitoring solutions on supported versions
- On-call and after-hours support for incidents and planned maintenance
- Lead technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for major incidents
- Drive automation, performance optimization, and operational excellence

Requisitos principales

- 8 to 15+ years in IBM Mainframe Systems Programming with DB2 for z/OS focus
- Proven experience with large-scale enterprise DB2 environments and multiple subsystems
- Strong DB2 installation, migration, maintenance, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Experience in Banking/Financial Services or other mission-critical environments preferred
- Hands-on experience with CICS and DB2 for high-volume OLTP
- DB2 for z/OS, z/OS, SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF
- Experience installing, upgrading, testing DB2 releases and providing Level 2/3 support
- Knowledge of Distributed DB2 Connectivity (DDF)
- Expertise in performance monitoring, capacity planning, backup/recovery, DR, and security administration
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; excellent communication; ability to work independently
