Overview

As Fraud Operations Manager at Preply, you lead a global fraud team protecting the marketplace’s financial integrity. You shape the function’s strategy, governance, and end-to-end operations, partnering with Product, Payments, and Finance. You’ll drive KPI targets, detect faults, and translate field insights into actionable roadmap improvements. This role blends leadership with analytics to scale risk management in a dynamic, human-led learning platform.

Responsabilidades

- Lead and develop a team of Fraud Specialists to foster a high-judgement, high-accountability culture
- Own and align the Fraud Operations roadmap with broader business goals
- Design and formalise investigation standards, workflows, escalation protocols, and documentation
- Define, track, and improve Fraud Ops KPIs such as chargeback rate, dispute SLAs, false positives, and exposure
- Establish governance cadences for risk and exposure reviews with Finance and leadership
- Translate frontline observations into requirements for Product and Data to shape the detection roadmap
- Correlate operational insights with data to identify detection gaps and drive model improvements
- Collaborate with Product,



Payments, and Finance as the primary fraud authority for prioritisation and decisions
- Manage workforce planning and capacity to ensure operational resilience
- Present fraud performance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Drive continuous process improvements via root cause analysis, policy adherence, and tooling evolution

Requisitos principales

- 6-8+ years in fraud operations, payments risk, or financial crime with people management experience
- Proven track record leading fraud or risk operations in marketplace, fintech, or e-commerce
- Deep expertise in fraud investigation, chargeback management, and detection workflows
- Experience owning operational KPIs and translating data into decisions
- Strong people leadership with talent development and ownership culture
- Ability to translate operational observations into clear Product/Data requirements
- Strong data fluency and ability to surface actionable trends from operations and data
- Experience designing scalable processes and governance frameworks
- Understanding of how AI/ML models apply to fraud detection and how to work with technical teams to improve detection
