At YPlasma, we're building a new class of solid-state devices based on advanced materials and high-voltage electronics. The physics is challenging. The manufacturing is even harder. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the development of the manufacturing processes that will take our technology from laboratory prototypes to scalable production. This is not a traditional manufacturing role — it's about building entirely new process flows for multilayer functional devices combining polymers, ceramics, thin films and printed electronics. This is a highly cross-disciplinary role sitting at the intersection of materials science, manufacturing engineering, process development and hardware product development. You'll lead a small engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on — working with suppliers, designing experiments, qualifying manufacturing processes, building prototypes and solving problems that don't yet have standard solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new manufacturing process flows for multilayer functional devices combining polymers, ceramics,
thin films and printed electronics.
- Work across technologies such as Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD / PECVD), Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD / Sputtering), Aerosol Deposition, Screen Printing, Inkjet & Aerosol Jet Printing, Slot-Die Coating, Roll-to-Roll Manufacturing, Photonic Sintering and Laser Micromachining.
- Develop functional coatings, ceramic processing, thin films, versátil electronics, printed electronics and advanced materials integration.
- Answer hard questions: How do you manufacture micron-scale multilayer devices reproducibly? How do you combine polymers and ceramics into scalable manufacturing processes? How do you transition from handcrafted prototypes to automated production? How do you build manufacturing processes that don't exist yet?
- Lead and mentor a small engineering team while remaining hands-on in the lab and production floor
