Overview

In this role you lead all client-side engineering at Rakuten TV, steering multiple frontend teams across Mobile, Web and CTV platforms. You will own technical strategy, architecture and delivery, ensuring alignment with product and design while driving engineering standards and quality. You report to the CTO and represent frontend at leadership level, shaping the roadmap and platform decisions for millions of users across Europe. Responsabilidades

- Own the full scope of client-side engineering across B2B and B2C platforms
- Lead multiple frontend teams (~10 engineers) and hires across Mobile, CTVs and Web
- Define technical strategy, architecture and delivery for frontend platforms
- Align roadmaps between product, design and engineering
- Enforce engineering standards, code quality, and testing strategy
- Manage hiring, performance reviews and career development
- Oversee external vendor and CTV platform relationships




- Make final architecture and platform decisions as owner
- Represent engineering in leadership and stakeholder conversations

Requisitos principales

- 8+ years hands-on frontend engineering with deep frontend background (JavaScript/TypeScript, mobile, or CTV)
- At least 3 years in a leadership role (Lead, Principal, Head, or Director)
- Deep knowledge of React and modern frontend tooling in production
- Experience managing multi-team frontend organizations
- Experience with Smart TV application development
- Strong understanding of video streaming: HLS, DASH, players (hls.js, Shaka, etc.), DRM, and ad integration (VAST)
- Ability to define and execute long-term technical roadmaps and manage tech debt
- Comfortable presenting engineering topics to stakeholders and executives
- Strong hiring instincts and agile/scrum experience
- Experience publishing apps across mobile and CTV app stores
- Background in a streaming or media company
