Overview

In this role you will own the technical vision for Deel's Growth engine and lead a small cross-disciplinary team. You will design and ship AI-powered features that boost platform yield, while writing production code in Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. You’ll influence architecture, review AI-generated code, and communicate constraints to partners. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of global work at scale.

Responsabilidades

- Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to scope and ship features end to end
- Drive technical decisions aligned with company standards
- Support the tech lead on architecture, code reviews, and design feedback
- Design and deploy AI agents at scale to accelerate yield across the platform




- Use AI coding tools to accelerate development
- Review all AI-generated code before shipping
- Communicate technical constraints clearly to non-technical partners

Requisitos principales

- 8+ years as a Backend Engineer working on complex, scalable systems
- 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers as a tech lead or manager
- Background in data: data engineering, data science, analysis, or AI engineering
- Strong with Node.js or Python
- PostgreSQL and ORMs (Sequelize, TypeORM) as muscle memory
- Understands how AI works at a product level and can ship AI-powered products
- Hands-on with AI coding tools
- Strong communicator and ownership from design to production
