Overview

In this role you will design and maintain a cloud-native data processing platform, building scalable backend services in Scala to support ingestion, transformation, and analytics at scale across AWS and GCP. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, observable systems while shaping data pipelines and secure cloud integrations. This position offers the chance to influence architecture and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. You will work with modern tooling and mentoring to raise code quality and system resilience.

Responsabilidades

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Scala
- Build distributed systems handling large-scale data workloads
- Develop integrations with AWS and GCP cloud services
- Implement secure authentication/authorization via cloud-native identity services
- Build and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and analytics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions
- Ensure reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code; participate in code reviews and mentorship
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed, cloud-based environments




- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies (unit, component, integration)

Requisitos principales

- Strong proficiency in Scala and sbt
- Functional programming principles
- JSON serialization with Circe
- Hands-on AWS and/or GCP experience
- Cloud authentication/authorization knowledge (IAM, STS, AssumeRole, WebIdentity)
- Experience with AWS SDKs (S3, STS)
- Google BigQuery and Google Dataflow experience
- Strong SQL (PostgreSQL)
- Asynchronous/concurrent programming (FS2, cats-effect)
- Familiarity with Google Pub/Sub
- Experience with testing (unit, component, integration)
- Distributed systems troubleshooting
- Git and modern development workflows
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Finagle or similar RPC frameworks
- Knowledge of data pipeline orchestration/workflow tools
- Kubernetes deployment/operation
- Containerization and cloud-native architecture familiarity
- Building observable and resilient data processing systems
