Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team, you will advance scale, performance, and resilience across the cluster. You’ll improve indexing and coordination across nodes, and help push the system to handle larger shards and datasets. You’ll diagnose complex performance and concurrency issues and mentor others. This role offers impact by shaping how Elastic’s distributed search platform scales in real-world deployments, with a strong focus on reliability and efficiency.

Responsabilidades

- Improve components that enable concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines
- Maintain and improve the cluster coordination system to keep performance high as nodes join/leave and data moves




- Push the limits on shards, nodes, and petabytes handled by Elasticsearch
- Investigate performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions
- Support engineers with difficult problems

Requisitos principales

- Strong background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms
- Proficiency in core Java and its standard data structures and concurrency constructs
- Deep technical proficiency in algorithms
- Experience with complex, highly distributed systems
