The People Foundry

Aragón

I'm working with an ambitious aerospace technology company developing a new generation of high-altitude, long-endurance aircraft — and we're looking for an Aeroelastician to join the engineering team in Teruel, Aragón.

This is an opportunity for an engineer with a minimum of 3–4+ years of experience with a solid foundation in aeroelasticity who now wants to work on a genuinely challenging aircraft platform.

You don't need to be a world authority.

What matters is that you have a strong technical grounding, enjoy solving difficult problems and are hungry to learn.

You'll work alongside experienced aerodynamics, structures and modelling specialists, with the opportunity to interact directly with internationally recognised experts in aeroelasticity who advise the programme.

The technical challenge

The platforms being developed are exceptionally lightweight, flexible, high-aspect-ratio aircraft where aerodynamics, structures and flight dynamics are tightly coupled.

You'll be involved in:

→ Modelling and predicting nonlinear aeroelastic behaviour

→ Dynamic gust response and flutter analysis

→ Defining flutter boundaries for highly versátil wings

→ Informing structural sizing while minimising structural mass and power consumption

→ Integrating aeroelastic analysis into multidisciplinary design optimisation

→ Developing tools and models that enable rapid engineering iteration

You'll work with methodologies such as SHARPy, NATASHA, ASWING, UVLM/GEBT and nonlinear FEM — or equivalent approaches.

We're particularly interested in someone who:

- Has at least 3–4+ years of relevant experience in aeroelasticity, structural dynamics or closely related aerospace engineering
- Has an advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
- Has practical experience with aeroelastic modelling
- Understands the underlying theory rather than simply operating a software package
- Is comfortable working with Python and computational models
- Is curious, analytical and keen to learn
- Wants to work in a fast-moving engineering environment where they can have genuine influence

- Experience with HALE, HAPS, UAVs or other highly adaptable aircraft would be valuable, but isn't essential.

Why this opportunity?

This isn't a role where you'll be handed a mature aircraft programme and asked to run established analyses.

You'll be working on a new generation of high-altitude aircraft, helping develop the models and engineering approaches needed to make these platforms fly safely and efficiently.

And you'll have something that is difficult to find early in your career:

access to people who have spent decades at the leading edge of aeroelasticity — and the opportunity to learn directly from them.

It's a chance to accelerate your development while working on a platform pushing the boundaries of lightweight, high-altitude flight.

Location

Teruel, Aragón, Spain

The role is hands-on and based alongside the engineering, modelling and workshop teams.

The company and programme are confidential at this stage, but I can provide more information to suitably qualified candidates during a confidential conversation.
