Overview

In this role you will own platform security across cloud environments, driving detection, alerting, and incident readiness. You’ll lead cross-functional security initiatives and help shape a scalable security posture for Preply’s general platform. You will evolve monitoring from a basic SIEM to a trusted, actionable detection and response capability and work hands-on with current tooling. This position offers impact across SRE, Data, and Engineering teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company.

Responsabilidades

- Own platform security across AWS, Kubernetes, and GCP with emphasis on detection and incident readiness
- Lead end-to-end security initiatives from problem definition to rollout
- Define how platform security is designed, implemented, and operated at Preply
- Mature detection and response capabilities and make them actionable
- Work with tools like Datadog, Okta, and various SaaS platforms
- Drive cross-functional security initiatives with SRE, Data, Engineering, and GRC
- Strengthen cloud security with guardrails, secure patterns, and automation
- Improve access control to internal infrastructure and auditability
- Improve Kubernetes security across clusters and workloads




- Establish repeatable triage workflows and on-call escalation
- Create runbooks and playbooks for consistent alert handling
- Partner with Data teams to improve monitoring for suspicious activity
- Improve secrets management in CI/CD and runtime
- Build security automation to make the secure path easy for engineers

Requisitos principales

- Strong experience securing cloud and platform environments (AWS, Kubernetes; experience with GCP a plus)
- Experience delivering technical security initiatives end-to-end in production
- Strong understanding of SDLC and CI/CD with IaC
- Experience with identity and access security; Okta event monitoring preferred
- Experience building or maturing security operations; turning SIEM inputs into actionable outcomes
- Experience improving logging coverage and building actionable detections (Datadog SIEM a plus)
- Strong collaboration skills across SRE, Data, Engineering, and GRC
- Business-minded with cost-benefit decision making
- Excellent communication; English C1+
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
- Nice to have: Terraform, Jenkins CI/CD security, Cloudflare WAF/bot protections, scripting for automation
- Incident response experience in cloud-native environments (AWS/Kubernetes)
