Overview

In this role you will lead aerodynamic design and modelling for Airbus Defence & Space aircraft, delivering robust aerodynamic data and models to support performance, handling qualities and loads. You will work within Flight Physics in a multidisciplinary environment, liaising with partners to meet program requirements. You will advance numerical and experimental prediction tools, contribute to wind tunnel campaigns, and connect with external research to drive optimisation and technology development. This is an impactful opportunity to shape external shapes and aerodynamics for diverse aircraft programs.

Responsabilidades

- Design external air vehicle shapes and provide comprehensive aerodynamic models and data for performance, handling qualities and loads in steady and unsteady regimes
- Deliver optimised aerodynamic solutions and data to customers within time, cost, and quality constraints
- Develop and maintain technologies, methods, tools, and competencies across Aerodynamics to support programmes lifecycle
- Contribute to achievement of vehicle project aerodynamic and flight performance requirements within time, cost, and quality targets




- Develop expertise in numerical and experimental aerodynamic prediction tools
- Advance aerodynamic technologies in line with Company Strategy
- Engage with external research community in Aerodynamics and multidisciplinary air vehicle design
- Collaborate with related disciplines (structures, loads, stability & control, mass properties) to support integrated design
- Link with international partners and multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with program goals

Requisitos principales

- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (PhD level valuable)
- At least 5 years of experience in aerodynamic design and characterisation
- Strong experience in meshing and numerical aerodynamic prediction tools
- Strong experience in generating aerodynamic databases from experimental and CFD data
- Strong experience in CAD tools
- Knowledge/experience in wind tunnel testing (valuable)
- Knowledge/experience in safe separation (valuable)
- Knowledge/experience in Python and Matlab (valuable)
- English advanced; German and/or French valuable
