Role: Software Engineer

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days onsite

Contract: Long-term contract opportunity

Rate: Up to €550 per day

Languages: French mandatory, English mandatory; Dutch highly desirable

Technology & Risk Recruitment is working with a leading organisation in Brussels to recruit a Software Engineer to join an established Agile development team.

You will be responsible for the design, development and ongoing evolution of a business-critical platform supporting supervisory activities. Working alongside developers, Business Analysts, UX Designers, Architects and Operations teams, you will help deliver secure, scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop high-quality application components for the platform.
- Design technical solutions in collaboration with other members of the development team.
- Analyse complex technical issues and propose appropriate solutions.
- Take responsibility for technical leadership and release management where required.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, UX Designers, IT Architects and Operations teams.
- Provide technical coaching and knowledge sharing to other team members.
- Deliver well-structured, documented and thoroughly tested software components.
- Design and implement REST APIs and associated technical documentation.
- Produce architecture and detailed technical design documentation.
- Develop conceptual and logical data models and database design artefacts.
- Configure CI/CD pipelines and deployment scripts.
- Carry out code reviews and provide technical recommendations.
- Produce technical analyses and solution proposals.
- Develop operational, support and maintenance documentation.
- Prepare knowledge-transfer and coaching material where required.





Essential Skills & Experience

- Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong professional experience with Angular and TypeScript.
- Strong hands-on experience with C# and ASP.NET Core / .NET Core.
- Experience conducting and contributing to code reviews.
- Strong understanding of development tools and DevOps practices.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud solution architecture.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience designing conceptual and logical data models and ERDs.
- Experience designing for non-functional requirements including security, performance and query optimisation.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, including HTTP methods, URLs, versioning, JSON, metadata and documentation.
- Experience working within Scrum or Kanban Agile environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and coding standards.
- Experience with technical modelling, diagrams and structured documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- High level of autonomy, reliability and commitment to software quality.

- Candidates must have a proficient level in French or Dutch and an independent level in the other Belgian national language.

Working Arrangements

The role is based in Brussels with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing up to 50% teleworking.

The successful consultant must be available to work full-time during normal working hours, Monday to Friday.
