Company overview
Norfront builds custom software for small and mid-sized enterprises, with a sector focus on logistics, freight forwarding and customs in Spain. The current product line automates documentary control of shipping files, cross-checking packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices and customs declarations to identify discrepancies before cargo is released. The company has signed client engagements and operates with a team of three.
Role purpose The Business Development Partner is Norfront's first commercial hire and is responsible for originating new client engagements in the Spanish market. The role is relationship-led: the primary channels are industry associations, sector congresses, direct introductions and telephone contact. The postholder identifies and develops relationships with decision-makers at target accounts and works with the CEO to convert those relationships into scoped, signed work.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain a qualified target account list covering freight forwarders, customs agencies, OEA consultancies, IT integrators and SME advisory firms, recording the source of each record
- Identify the individual within each target account who owns the relevant operational problem
- Represent Norfront at sector associations and congresses relevant to the target market, such as UNO Logística, ATEIA and CEL
- Register each prospect through the company's written deal registration process before commencing engagement
- Arrange and attend introductory meetings with decision-makers, accompanied by the CEO
- Report weekly on meetings held, prospects registered, opportunities advanced and market feedback received
- Document the commercial process, maintain pipeline records and establish reporting structures as the function develops
Scope and authority The postholder originates and introduces opportunities. Pricing, scope,
timelines and contractual terms are set by Norfront. The postholder has no authority to bind the company or to agree commercial terms with any client or prospect. Where Norfront elects to take up a membership, sponsorship or exhibitor position with a trade association or event, it contracts and pays for this directly. Attendance, travel and subsistence costs incurred by the postholder are borne by the postholder, and the postholder incurs no cost on Norfront's behalf.
