Graphic Designer - Part-time 20h/week

Point of Reference Studio (POR) is a Madrid-based design studio working at the intersection of graphic and spatial design. We create identities, signage, and wayfinding systems that give places character and help people navigate them. Our work combines research, an understanding of context, and close attention to craft.

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer with a strong interest in typography, editorial and branding to join our team.

The role

You’ll work closely with the Creative Director and the wider team on branding, signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics. From early research to final artwork, you’ll contribute to projects that bring graphic design into physical spaces.

Your responsibilities will include

- Exploring visual concepts, references, and design directions.
- Developing layouts, typographic compositions, and graphic assets.
- Applying visual identities across print, digital, and guidelines.
- Preparing contents for presentations, and production-ready files with guidance from the team.
- Developing pictograms, and map styles for wayfinding projects.
- Contributing to design reviews and developing work in response to feedback.

What we're looking for

- A considered portfolio showing strong foundations in typography, composition, and layout. Academic and self-initiated projects are welcome.




- An interest in visual identities and how they work as coherent systems across different applications.
- Confidence using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Aftereffects. Familiarity with Figma is a plus.
- Attention to detail, an organized approach to files, and care for the quality of finished work.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to ask questions, share ideas, and learn through feedback.
- Studies in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- A high level of proficiency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken, is essential. Additional languages are a plus.

Practical details

This is a part-time, on-site position at our Madrid studio. The working hours are from 10:00 to 14:00 Monday through Friday (20h/week).

The interview process has two stages: an initial online interview, followed by an in-person interview at our Madrid studio for shortlisted candidates.

The start date is September 2026.
