The role

- Build data pipelines: integrate diverse sources (HTML, CSV, relational databases, embeddings) using scalable ETLs.
- Modeling and optimization: design analytical models to generate KPIs and efficiently manage large data volumes.
- Enable AI: prepare datasets for ML, LLMs, and RAG systems, integrating AI for natural language queries.
- DataOps and scalability: apply CI/CD, continuous monitoring, and optimize infrastructure.

What we're looking for

- Results-oriented with strong technical ownership.
- Around 3-4 years of experience.
- Relevant experience with SQL / PL-SQL
- Relevant experience with Python (pandas, Pyspark) and Apache spark
- Relevant experience with ETLs & E/R models
- Relevant experience working with Data & Development teams
- Experience with AWS services (EMR, Lambdas,…)
- Fluency in Spanish and English

We are looking for talented Data Engineers with a passion for big-data technologies and building robust data solutions that support advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and build scalable data solutions for advanced analytics.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and data processing solutions.

About You

You’ll ideally have an advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience, together with a strong interest in big-data technologies.

You should have:

- Hands-on experience building data solutions for advanced analytics.
- Strong knowledge of big-data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark .
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, SQL and/or Scala .
- Experience working with large-scale data environments.
- Knowledge of data processing and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics and machine-learning tools.
- Experience with tools such as Anaconda and Spark .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to work outside your comfort zone.

Essential Experience

- Experience: 3+ years in Data Engineering, including 2+ years leveraging AWS data analytics solutions.
- Core Technical Stack: Python, SQL, and PySpark / Apache Spark.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on expertise with AWS Data Services, Docker, and AWS ECS.
- Orchestration: Experience building and managing data pipelines using Apache Airflow.
- Languages: Professional fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken).

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Data Processing & Streaming: Apache Kafka, Databricks, and dbt (data build tool).
- BI & Development: QlikView / Qlik Sense and Java programming.
- Methodology: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

The opportunity

This job involves developing and delivering Management Information (MI), providing key trends and better MI developments whilst supporting best practice. The role involves producing intelligence/insights to better serve decision making and outcomes to help grow Intact Insurance Europe.

You will work within Intact Insurance Europe Change & Continuous Improvement team to help shape the needs and requirements of the business to support better MI and data quality. You will be responsible for reviewing existing reporting, providing recommendations on potential technical enhancements and new MI solutions. The role strongly focuses on the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of reporting solutions and involves forming and maintaining a strong relationship within organizational functions to capture all data and MI needs and priorities to provide a clear picture of business performance.

You will be responsible for delivery of identified improvements for MI, insight/analytics, to defining solutions and implementing sustainable delivery. This includes driving reporting solutions from data preparation and validation through modelling, visualization, implementation and ongoing maintenance. The role is key to driving consistency across our business to improve efficiency & ensure that the right work is done in the right place with the right controls & at the right cost.

Specific remit aligns to:

- The role connects with the business through MI and aims to influence various functions across Intact Insurance Europe in their decision making, ensuring the right business outcomes from data visualization
- The individual will have a strong knowledge of information management and analysis background, working with the various functions to gain understanding of the various Intact Insurance business units
- The role is responsible for the accurate production and delivery of existing BAU reports– this includes regular review and refinement to ensure fit for purpose, as well as identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
- The individual will work with necessary IT functions where required to enable better technology and capabilities, to help unify data from a variety of both internal and external sources

Your role will evidence a culture of continuous improvement, supporting standardization to allow for informed decision making at exec level. This will require you to understand the people aspects of change– from change readiness to the way people receive the change and the strategies needed to ensure that people adopt the new ways of working.

In this role you will collaborate closely with the Sales, Underwriting, Operations, Finance and HR leadership.

You will also interact with business stakeholders across all functions & branches (across jurisdictions). You will provide operational expertise and consultancy capability to drive and deliver operational effectiveness and benefits in line with strategic and operational plans.

This role requires an experienced business-focused Data analyst with a proven track record of optimized delivery aligned to operational effectiveness. The ability to combine strong analytical and BI capabilities with practical, hands‑on approach to delivering reporting solutions, influence key stakeholders to secure buy in and develop the plans required to execute targeted outcomes will be key to success.
