We are looking for a highly commercial Business Development Director to drive growth, build strategic partnerships, and expand our presence in Southern Europe.
Responsibilities
- Identify and close new business opportunities.
- Develop and grow strategic client relationships.
- Manage key accounts and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and partnerships.
- Execute growth strategies and contribute to market expansion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business results.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Business Development, Enterprise Sales, or Strategic Partnerships.
- Specific sales experience within the payments and cards (“plastic”) ecosystem — including banking and associated products — rather than financial products broadly.
- Background in technology, fintech, payments, or related industries.
- An established personal reputation in the market — a name that carries weight with senior decision-makers.
- Strong hunter and farmer profile, with a track record of generating and growing revenue.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- The seniority and network to engage directly with the leadership of a Enterprise-tier organization.
- Able to eventually bring in their own client relationships.
- Commercial mindset, proactive attitude, and strong execution capabilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple strategic clients simultaneously.
- Exposure to AI and emerging technologies is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
