Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating, transporting, loading, unloading, inspecting, and maintaining a wide variety of military and commercial heavy equipment supporting War Reserve Material (WRM) operations and installation support functions. The position operates advanced technology construction and material-handling equipment, including electronically controlled diesel-powered systems, hydraulic equipment,



rough-terrain lifting equipment, earthmoving equipment, and specialized military assets.

The incumbent will load and unload heavy equipment from lowboy trailers, transport vehicles, rail assets, and military aircraft; support inspections, inventory actions, preservation activities, and shipment preparation; and operate equipment in support of civil engineering, airfield maintenance, logistics, and construction projects. The position requires extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles, safety standards, load securement requirements, and preventive maintenance practices.
