Electrical System Installation (ESI) Consultant

Job Title: Electrical System Installation (ESI) Consultant

Location: Toulouse, France

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (CDI)

Hybrid Working

Aerospace Domain preferred.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical System Installation (ESI) Consultant to join our Toulouse team, assigned to the Aerospace client Commercial Aircraft Customer Services department. The role is focused on electrical installation engineering: routing, harnesses, wiring, brackets and installation definition. The consultant will bring this expertise into the development of the latest Customer Services engineering tool, contributing to a broad engineering coverage.

Knowledge of functional electrical definition is a plus and will be valued to strengthen the consistency between installation and system definition.

The assignment is strictly limited to the tool development process. The consultant acts as the electrical installation referent within this framework and does not handle in-service technical queries, repair or modification requests, or any other engineering demand outside the tool development scope. Any request received outside this perimeter is redirected to the relevant Aerospace client organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as electrical system installation (ESI) referent within the tool development process: routing, wiring, harnesses, bundles, connectors, brackets, segregation and separation rules.
- Collect, challenge and formalise Aerospace client user needs, use cases and engineering rules to be embedded in the tool.
- Contribute to the functional specification, data model definition and structuring of electrical installation data.
- Analyse and interpret electrical definition data used as tool input: wiring diagrams (ASM/WDM), installation drawings, 3D digital mock-up (DMU) and equipment installation definition.

- Ensure a large engineering coverage by consolidating multi-ATA electrical installation data into the tool scope (ATA 24, 92 and interfacing systems).
- Participate in development, test and validation loops with the digital teams: test campaigns, non-conformity reporting, acceptance criteria.
- Where relevant, contribute to the consistency between functional electrical definition and physical installation (power distribution, signal routing) – appreciated but not mandatory.
- Interface, within the tool development framework only, with Design Office, Systems, Configuration Management and Customer Services stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain tool-related documentation: specifications, user guides, process descriptions and lessons learned.

Required Skills & Experience

Education / Experience:

- Engineering degree or Bac+2/Bac+3 (BTS/BUT/Licence) or Engineer (Bac+5) in electrical engineering, electrotechnics, aeronautics or embedded systems.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical system installation engineering in the aerospace industry (core requirement).
- Design Office experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience on the A350 programme is a plus.

Technical Skills:

- Solid knowledge of electrical installation principles: harness and bundle design, routing, segregation and separation, grounding/bonding, protections, EWIS.
- Knowledge of functional electrical definition (electrical load analysis, power distribution, functional schematics, system interfaces) is a plus.

- Ability to read and analyse wiring diagrams, installation drawings and digital mock-up.
- Familiarity with Aerospace client engineering and customer services documentation (AMM, WDM/ASM, SB, TSM, IPC) is appreciated.
- Experience with CAD/DMU and electrical design tools (CATIA V5, VPM/3DEXPERIENCE, Capital / electrical harness design suites) is appreciated.
- Interest or experience in digital tooling and data-driven engineering (data structuring, automation, Excel/VBA, Python, Power BI) is a strong asset.
- Professional technical English proficiency (written and spoken); French is an asset.

Soft Skills:

- Analytical and synthetic mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Autonomous, rigorous and proactive.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Customer-oriented, comfortable in a consultant position and able to stay within a clearly defined perimeter.

Detailed Responsibilities

- Translate electrical installation engineering practices into tool requirements, business rules and validation criteria.
- Verify that the engineering rules embedded in the tool comply with applicable electrical, EWIS and installation design standards.
- Build and review test cases based on representative electrical installation configurations.
- Support data quality, structuring and traceability of the electrical installation data feeding the tool.
- Consolidate and extend the tool coverage to a wide spectrum of aircraft systems and configurations.
- Report progress, risks and blocking points to the Aerospace client tool development team and to Tech Mahindra management.
- Deliver demonstrations, training and user support on the deployed tool to Customer Services teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardisation and capitalisation of the tool development practices.
