Updated: 07 July 2026 Freelance | 8–20 hrs/week | Remote (EU/UK) Are you an experienced journalist who instinctively spots gaps in reporting, editorial judgement, or story structure and understands the complex realities of journalism? Do you have 8 to 20 hours per week available alongside your main job or freelance assignments? Team connects expert freelancers with leading AI labs building next‐generation models.
We are looking for knowledgeable journalists based in the EU or UK to enhance the accuracy, depth, and real‐world relevance of AI‐powered journalism systems. Review and refine AI‐generated outputs related to news reporting, editorial content, source verification, and the practical aspects of journalistic work Draft realistic journalism scenarios based on your direct professional experience Identify gaps, oversights, or weak reasoning in AI‐generated newsroom content You will assess and improve AI‐generated content, ensuring it reflects sound journalistic reasoning, authentic news documentation, and practical reporting procedures. Rather than conducting traditional journalistic work, you'll apply your expertise to help AI systems understand and reason about journalism at scale.
A senior‐level journalist with significant professional experience within the EU or UK Experienced in advising on, preparing,
and executing reporting and editorial assignments Skilled at evaluating journalism standards, compliance, editing, and publication processes Adaptable, fully remote freelance work that fits your current commitments Apply your journalism expertise in a rapidly evolving, high‐impact AI environment Directly contribute to building advanced AI journalism systems Flexible, fully remote freelance work that fits your current commitments Project demand is highly dynamic and matching depends on your expertise, availability, and current AI Lab needs. Some experts are matched within days, while others may wait longer for a suitable project. Traditional freelance missions — These are regular project‐based opportunities where the listed mission is the actual project you may work on.
AI Lab roles — For AI Lab roles, we scout, review, and approve profiles for access to future project opportunities. AI Lab work is often highly confidential as this exposes information of what an AI Lab is working on, and project requests are unpredictable. Matching depends on the specific needs of each AI Lab project and your niche expertise.
Once your profile is reviewed and approved, you may be matched to relevant AI Lab projects when suitable opportunities arise. This can happen within hours, but it may also take months, depending on the researchers at the AI labs and their project needs.
