We solve complex operational problems and take AI solutions from research and concept through industrial deployment and measurable business impact . We are looking for an exceptional Principal Data Scientist / AI Technical Lead to become one of the senior technical authorities within INSUS.

The Role

This is not a standard Senior Data Scientist position . The successful candidate will combine deep scientific expertise, advanced machine-learning knowledge, strong mathematical foundations and practical engineering judgment . You will work directly with senior INSUS engineers, architects, business leaders and customer stakeholders, helping determine not only how we build AI solutions, but also what should be built and why .

Act as a technical authority for Data Science and Applied AI across complex customer engagements. Translate ambiguous industrial and business challenges into rigorous mathematical, statistical and machine-learning problems. Guide projects from research/PoC through production deployment and operational scaling .

Work closely with ML Engineers, Data Engineers, MLOps Engineers, Software Engineers and Solution Architects. Establish technical standards, methodologies and best practices for Data Science within INSUS. Review and challenge the work of other Data Scientists and AI Engineers.

Mentor senior and junior technical team members. Represent INSUS as a senior AI expert in customer workshops and technical discussions.

Required Background

We are looking for a genuinely senior profile with: ~10+ years of relevant Data Science, Machine Learning, AI or advanced quantitative experience ,



or an exceptional research/industrial track record demonstrating equivalent seniority. ~ MSc or preferably PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or another highly quantitative discipline. ~ Deep understanding of machine-learning fundamentals—not simply experience using ML libraries. ~ Expert-level Python and strong command of the modern scientific/ML ecosystem. ~ Strong understanding of model performance, robustness, explainability, monitoring and lifecycle management. ~ Professional-level English. Industrial AI, manufacturing, process industries or operational optimization Research collaboration with industrial organizations Advanced time-series and sensor-data analytics Leading Data Science or applied-research teams Supervising MSc/PhD-level researchers Marcell's background is a useful benchmark here: his experience spans anomaly detection across multiple time-series and log-data types, RAG and domain-specific QA, semantic chunking and foundation-model research, together with technical supervision.
