Vestas Technology & Operations Procurement CPx & Logistics Procurement MED About The Department The Procurement department within the EMEA organization is responsible for managing strategic sourcing for renewable energy projects across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans. Within this hub, we oversee the sourcing of inland transportation services for heavy wind turbine components (blades, towers, nacelles), port operations, and specialized logistics supporting our wind farm projects. Based in our Madrid offices, you will join a highly collaborative, international team with a direct impact on project performance and general execution.
We are hiring an experienced procurement specialist with a commercial focus and a strategic approach to support our EMEA Logistics Procurement team. In this role (Individual Contributor, no direct reports), you will manage the sourcing and procurement of specialized transport services, managing commercial negotiations across multiple internal and external stakeholders. Your main goal will be to analyze transport cost structures, perform competitive price benchmarks, and secure advantageous agreements that ensure compliance with timelines, quality standards, and project budgets across the EMEA region.
Transport Sourcing & Negotiation: Manage the sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation of contracts for specialized inland transport and logistics services.
Cost Analysis & Benchmarking: Develop and maintain transportation cost models, price benchmarks, and offer comparisons to challenge cost premises with financial arguments and secure optimal commercial terms. Handle negotiations and build good relationships across multiple stakeholders (suppliers, operations, logistics, sales, legal, and finance) to align business objectives.
Bidding & Project Support: Collaborate with sales and tendering teams during the bidding phase by calculating competitive logistics costs and securing supplier capacity.
Contract Monitoring & Supplier Performance:
Ensure contract compliance, track timely logistics delivery targets, and maintain strong, long-term commercial partnerships with transport providers. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, Economics, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, or service management within multinational environments.
Industry Focus: Demonstrated experience in procuring transportation and logistics services within construction, infrastructure, energy, or other project-based industrial sectors.
Commercial & Financial Skills: Well-developed negotiation profile with a solid ability to interpret numbers, run financial benchmarks, and communicate persuasively.
Procurement Tools: Proficient in sourcing processes and procurement platforms, with knowledge of SAP Ariba.
Fluent
English (spoken and written) is required for daily collaboration with international teams and regional suppliers. (German is an advantage). Capacity to translate numerical data into commercial strategies and negotiation leverage. Opportunity to join a global leader in wind energy.
