We are looking for an experienced scientific leader to define and drive our company's biomarker strategy in oncology, bridging cutting-edge science with real‑world diagnostic applications. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about translating biomarker discoveries into clinically validated diagnostic solutions that improve patient outcomes. The successful candidate will lead the biomarker development journey---from biomarker discovery and analytical validation to the development of proprietary diagnostic assays, regulatory approval and their implementation in clinical practice. This role combines strategic leadership with a strong hands‑on approach. You will work across R&D;, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Business teams, ensuring that scientific discoveries are successfully transformed into robust, clinically meaningful diagnostic products. Key responsabilities:
Biomarker Strategy:
Define and lead biomarker strategies from identification and validation to clinical implementation. Assay & Diagnostic Development:
Lead the development, optimization and validation of biomarker-based assays and diagnostic platforms. Clinical & Analytical Validation:
Oversee analytical and clinical studies supporting regulatory approval and clinical implementation.
Scientific & Data Leadership:
Guide biomarker research, data analysis and interpretation in collaboration with bioinformatics and biostatistics teams. Cross-functional Leadership:
Lead multidisciplinary projects across R&D;, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality and Business teams. External Collaboration:
Build strategic partnerships with academic, clinical, technology and industry stakeholders. We are looking for a senior professional with:
10 years of experience in biomarker development Extensive experience in
translational oncology and biomarker discovery, validation and translational diagnostics Deep expertise in oncology biomarkers, particularly:
miRNA and protein biomarkers Proven experience in
diagnostic/IVD assay development, analytical validation and clinical implementation Experience translating biomarkers into
clinically validated diagnostic products Strong hands‑on experience and in-depth technical knowledge of routine
molecular biology and protein analysis techniques,
including RT‑qPCR, qPCR, Digital PCR (preferred), ELISA, Immunoassays, Multiplex. Extensive experience with
analytical platforms , including: Luminex® technology, QuantStudio™ Real-Time PCR System (or similar) and KingFisher™ Nucleic acid extraction platforms Proven expertise in the development, optimization and validation of analytical assays, reagents and laboratory workflows for biomarker-based diagnostic applications. Experience
interpreting biomarker data
and translating scientific evidence into clinically meaningful diagnostic solutions. Working knowledge of statistical analysis and bioinformatics tools applied to biomarker Strong
analytical and strategic skills , with the ability to interpret complex data and support biomarker strategy, portfolio prioritization and resource allocation Proven experience
leading cross‑functional scientific programs
across clinical, regulatory, commercial and technical teams Strong
leadership and communication skills , including team management, mentoring and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders Experience collaborating with
external partners , including academic institutions, clinical investigators and industry stakeholders Preferred experience:
Experience with
liquid biopsy, proteomics, NGS‑based biomarker discovery or Companion Diagnostics (CDx) Knowledge of
ISO 13485, IVDR and Design Control principles Background education:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Oncology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences or a related scientific discipline is strongly preferred. Master's or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences with extensive relevant experience will also be considered. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of
