Position Overview:
We are seeking a EU/UK based, detail-oriented and analytical Cost Engineer to join our Project Controls
team. The role requires strong experience with SAP, particularly in cost management,
purchase orders, commitments, actual costs, budgets, and financial reporting. The Cost
Engineer works closely with project managers, procurement, finance, engineering, and
commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budgeting & Cost Control & Reporting
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
- Monitor actual costs, commitments, accruals, and expenditures against approved budgets.
- Use SAP to create, maintain, and analyse cost data, purchase orders, commitments, and project transactions.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and cost forecasts.
- Support project managers with cost-control information and financial decision making.
- Track committed and vigente costs and ensure accurate cost coding.
- Review purchase orders, invoices, goods receipts, and subcontractor costs.
- Coordinate with procurement and finance teams to resolve cost discrepancies.
- Support change management and assess the cost impact of project variations.
- Assist with budgeting, annual planning, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) calculations.
- Ensure compliance with company cost-control procedures and SAP processes
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost reports, including executive-level dashboards that summarise financial performance for stakeholders.
Change Management & Governance
- Lead the change control process, evaluating the cost impact of scope changes and variations and ensuring approvals are obtained.
- Work with procurement to align purchase orders with the cost structure, ensure timely ordering of materials, and validate supply chain data.
