Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing international Data Engineering team in Viladecans, Barcelona .

In this role, you will work on the design, development, and evolution of scalable data solutions , collaborating closely with Data Engineers, business stakeholders, and other technical teams.

You will combine strong hands-on technical expertise with a high level of autonomy, contributing to data engineering best practices, data quality, and the continuous improvement of the organisation's data environment.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance data pipelines .

Develop and optimise data solutions using technologies such as AWS, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, ClickHouse, and S3 .

Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines , ensuring data reliability, scalability, and performance.

Work on data modelling, transformation, and performance tuning across different data environments.

Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective data solutions .

Contribute to data quality, governance, and security practices.

Follow and contribute to best practices around GitHub, version control, CI/CD, testing, and code quality .

Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog discussions using JIRA.





Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's Data Engineering practices, architecture, and processes .

Stay hands-on with the technology while sharing knowledge and supporting other team members when needed.

Must Have

5+ years of experience in Data Engineering , with a strong hands-on technical background.

Strong expertise in AWS , including S3, Lambda, and Redshift or equivalent technologies.

Hands-on experience with Airflow, DBT, and Docker , together with Snowflake, ClickHouse, or similar technologies .

Strong experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and performance tuning .

Strong SQL and Python skills for Data Engineering tasks.

Experience working with Agile methodologies and JIRA .

Good knowledge of GitHub workflows, branching strategies, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices .

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills , with the ability to work independently on complex data engineering challenges.

Good communication and stakeholder management skills , with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
