Our client is a dynamic & fast-growing company operating several customer-facing sites in the Barcelona area.
We're looking for a People & Culture Manager to lead the full people function across the organisation, combining day-to-day presence on the ground with a strategic approach to engagement, recruitment, training, and culture.
Your mission
As People & Culture Manager, you'll own the full employee lifecycle across the group's locations: from attracting and selecting talent, through onboarding, development and retention, to offboarding when needed. You'll report directly to leadership and work closely with site managers.
This is a role with direct, hands-on impact with regular presence across the different sites, combining daily execution with the design of processes and people strategy for the medium/long term.
Your key responsibilities
Workplace climate & employee experience
Regular, rotating presence across sites to assess workplace climate, customer-facing standards, and health & safety compliance.
Ongoing reporting on internal climate, tracking key indicators over time.
Being a visible, approachable presence on-site, someone employees feel comfortable approaching directly, not just during scheduled check-ins.
Regular 1:1 listening sessions with employees, with full staff coverage over the course of the year.
Recruitment & talent attraction
Defining candidate profiles and building relationships with training institutes, job fairs, and other sourcing channels to maintain an active talent pipeline.
Screening CVs and conducting first-round HR interviews
Coordinating in-person interviews and managing candidate experience
Onboarding, development & offboarding
Managing the new-hire welcome process (induction materials, initial training, introduction to internal policies).
Structured follow-up at 30, 60 and 90 days.
Conducting exit interviews and analysing turnover causes.
Coordination & training of Leadership/Operations
Designing and delivering monthly training for site managers on people management: leadership, conflict resolution, feedback, interviewing and selection technique.
Regular check-in with the leaders to review issues and people priorities.
HR administration
Liaising with the gestoria on payroll management and contractual changes
Coordinating with the occupational health provider: medical check-ups, workstation risk assessments, and fitness-for-work follow-up.
Handling any administrative matters: sick leaves, Paid Time Off, tracking work-related accidents.
Responding to employee queries on payroll, contracts, and leave.
Internal communication
Owning People-related communication channels (digital, on-site noticeboards, town-halls, All-Hands short team briefings).
Preparing and following up on engagement surveys.
Your profile
From 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, ideally gained across multiple sites with frontline/operational teams in context like retail chains, hospitality, restaurant groups, or leisure/education.
A genuinely proactive, hands-on operator
A real taste for ownership and proactivity . Comfortable taking a topic and running with it end-to-end.
A real love for being on the ground , not doing HR from behind a desk.
Solid listening, mediation , and people-development skills .
Ability to coach and support managers
Experience or strong interest in active recruitment and building talent pipelines.
Fluent Spanish with a high level of English. Catalan is a big plus.
Comfortable travelling between several centres day to day (all reachable by public transport)
What we offer
The project: well known & recognized brand, growing fast, with a very strong people-first culture and a clear social mission
Growth path: as the group opens new locations, this role is set up to grow into managing the People & Culture function across the wider structure.
