You will work for an international consulting and engineering firm focused on design, engineering and consultancy for technically complex and mission-critical environments. The organization has a highly specialized Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) division, with a strong focus on data centers.
From various international locations, you will work with leading data center companies across Europe, Africa, Asia and the United Kingdom on innovative and sustainable solutions. As digital technologies continue to grow, so does the team.
To further expand its activities in Belgium, the company is looking for a Project Manager. You will join an existing Plant Engineering team and work with colleagues in Belgium and across the international MCF organization on challenging data center projects for national and international clients.
In Belgium, the company is actively developing an MCF hub. You will contribute to projects carried out in collaboration with international offices. In addition, you will play an important central role for the Belgian market and be closely involved in managing and delivering projects for clients.
The role
- You manage the scope, planning, project budget and contract documentation.
- You prepare project schedules, monitor progress and make adjustments where necessary.
- You coordinate activities within multidisciplinary project teams and ensure efficient collaboration.
- You coordinate cooperation between the Belgian team and international project teams.
- You act as a connecting link within the Belgian MCF hub and between different international teams.
- You monitor quality, progress and risks throughout the entire project.
- You coordinate design and engineering activities with internal teams, clients and external parties.
- You guide design decisions, changes and decision-making processes,
ensuring they remain aligned with the project objectives.
- You maintain active contact with clients and act as an important point of contact throughout the project.
- You support and coordinate the execution phase and ensure a smooth transition from design to implementation.
- You identify opportunities and risks and ensure they are discussed and followed up in a timely manner.
- You communicate clearly about project status, progress, planning, budget and any potential issues.
Your Profile
You are a results-oriented and proactive Project Manager with a strong sense of collaboration, quality and responsibility. You feel comfortable working in an international and technically complex project environment and know how to effectively connect different disciplines and stakeholders.
- You have a completed Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
- You have at least 5 years of experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary design, engineering or construction projects.
- Experience in data centers, industry or other complex built environments is a strong advantage.
- You have demonstrable experience managing project teams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, such as engineers, consultants, contractors and clients.
- You have an affinity for digital and automated design and engineering processes, including 3D design and BIM environments such as BIM360.
Detailed technical drawing is carried out by the engineers.
- You have a good knowledge of relevant standards, regulations and working methods within the design and construction sector.
- You understand project budgets, schedules, risks and contractual agreements.
- You understand clients' operational requirements and know how to translate them into practical and high-quality solutions.
- You communicate clearly and convincingly with both colleagues and clients.
- You are fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an advantage.
