Offer Description
PhD position available to study the role of mitochondrial biology in perivascular cells. The candidate will design, prepare, receipt and process biological samples related to the project, including cell lines and tissues from transgenic mice. The candidate will perform animal procedures related to the project such as anemia or hypoxia procedures. The candidate will manage different transgenic mouse lines, as well as the phenotyping of mice with specific cell type mitochondrial inactivation. In this line, the candidate will process and analyze project related data obtained from: High resolution microscope, high resolution fluorescent multiplexed in situ hybridization, western blot or qPCR among others.

Research Field Biological sciences Education Level Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
The candidate must possess a Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Biomedicine or related, as well as a master's degree in biological, biochemical, pharmacological, or biomedical Sciences. The candidate must accredit experience in animal research (
6 months) with animal research certification A-C (D preferred), transgenic mouse colonies management, euthanasia,
and tissue dissection and extraction. The candidate must have experience with laboratory techniques such as Westerb blot, qPCR, IF, ELISA, as well as statistical analysis expertise (SPSS, Graphpad…).
Optional but Recommended: Experience with cell culture.
