Attend meetings with shipyard, site and remote teams on the new build progress.
Safe operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment outside the engine room.
Ensuring that there are no illegal discharges of oil, garbage, sewage from the engine room in contravention of the MARPOL Convention as amended.
Ensuring that the Oil record Book is properly maintained as per the instructions contained therein.
Ensuring that the Oily Water Separator (OWS) and Oil Detection Monitor (ODM) where fitted are regularly tested and any illegal connections immediately removed and reported to the Master and Technical Manager.
Ensures that the fleet management software where provided is regularly updated for planned maintenance, inventory control, spare and consumable requisitions.
Ensuring that machinery which is not in regular use are periodically tested and maintained.
Confer with the Master daily when at sea and report any deficiencies immediately.




Maintain accountability and logbooks of all mechanical and electrical spares, fuel/water levels and spares used.
Provide a written report each month or at the end of the voyage, whichever precedes, and cover general performance of the engine room and equipment; Before entry and departure port all engine controls are tested and records of tests entered in the engine log book.
Participate in Campaigns and training.
