The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing integral public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
ISGlobal is seeking a cytotechnologist who is interested in taking over and managing cytological-oriented activities of the projects on pathology of the cervix and the anal canal associated with human papillomavirus infection.



The overall project goal is to design a cost-effective strategy for prevention of anal cancer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To examine anal and cervical cell samples under a microscope to detect signs of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, pre-cancerous conditions or cancer.
- To evaluate cytological slides stained with p16/Ki67 dual staining immunocytochemistry.
- Maintain detailed records of specimens, staining protocols, and results.
- Ensure compliance with standardized protocols and quality control measures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- To examine anal and cervical ThinPrep cell samples stained with Papanicolaou stain under a microscope to detect signs of cancer, infection, or pre-cancerous conditions.
- To examine anal and cervical ThinPrep cell samples stained with p16/Ki67 dual staining under a microscope.
- Monitor staining consistency and quality of the samples.
