Experteer Overview
As a senior FCC advisory lead in Santander CIB, you guide complex client relationships and transactions through risk-based, compliant decisions. You will act as a trusted advisor to Front Office, Operations and Compliance, shaping controls and policy effectiveness. The role combines regulatory insight with practical risk judgment to enable business momentum while protecting the firm from financial crime. You’ll work across global teams, driving change and supporting a robust risk culture with training and governance enhancements.

• Lead reviews of high-risk transactions and client relationships, delivering FCC opinions to support business decisions
• Provide real-time FCC advisory support on transaction structures, sanctions, AML risks and typologies to Front Office and Compliance partners
• Offer expert risk-based recommendations on complex client/transaction matters with potential business impact
• Perform FCC controls testing and artefact reviews, including data testing as required
• Engage with regulators, internal audit and governance committees on significant FCC matters and remediation
• Drive regulatory change management, horizon scanning and ensure Group Financial Crime policy and guides remain effective
• Coordinate with Group and Country FCC peers and act as key contact for FCC topics
• Identify opportunities to strengthen FCC risk management and drive remediation actions
• Develop and deliver FCC training and awareness programmes in collaboration with Central Compliance and Group Financial Crime
Responsabilidades
• Proven FCC advisory experience reviewing complex client relationships and transactions in CIB environments
• Strong track record of risk-based recommendations and approvals for complex scenarios
• 8–12+ years in financial crime compliance or related area
• In-depth understanding of CIB products including Markets, Trade Finance and Capital Markets
• Knowledge of Payments, Trade and Correspondent Banking
• Experience in large multinational banks with general exposure
• FCC control expertise and regulatory knowledge
• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
• Strong analytical, data testing and technology enablement capabilities
• Experience with FCC tech and control platforms such as screening, monitoring, case management tools (e.g., Dow Jones, Oracle, Fenergo)
• Experience designing global FCC operating models and governance frameworks
• Proficiency with MS Office and AI-enabled tools
