Context

A leading bank is looking for a Freelance Data Scientist to help transform complex data into actionable insights, predictive models and AI-driven solutions. You'll work closely with business, IT and data teams to develop scalable machine learning solutions that support automation, innovation and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

- Translate business requirements into data science use cases and analytical solutions
- Design, develop and maintain predictive, descriptive and prescriptive models
- Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to uncover insights from complex data
- Build and operationalise decision algorithms and automation solutions
- Manage the full model lifecycle, from development to monitoring and optimisation
- Ensure data and model quality through validation,



monitoring and governance
- Communicate insights to business stakeholders and promote a data-driven culture
- Collaborate with business, IT and data teams to deliver high-impact solutions

Requirements

- Experience with Data Science, Machine Learning and statistical modelling
- Strong Python and/or R experience
- Experience translating business problems into analytical solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Interest in AI, automation and data-driven process optimisation
- Knowledge of data quality, governance and risk management
- Dutch and English are mandatory

Nice to Have

- Experience with LangChain and AI workflow orchestration
- Knowledge of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
- Experience within banking, financial services or other complex data environments
