Rarefied is a young and independent magazine exploring art, design, travel and contemporary culture through a personal, carefully curated lens.

We’re drawn to people with unusual perspectives, places with character, and objects with a story worth telling. Our curiosity takes us from an artist’s studio to a small hotel, from an unexpected exhibition to a conversation that stays with us.

About the role

Do you save places you haven’t visited yet, follow independent designers, and find yourself researching something long after it catches your eye? We’d like to meet you.

We’re looking for a curious, visually minded intern with fluent English to join us in Barcelona as part of a curricular university internship. Working closely with Rarefied’s founders, you’ll learn how an independent magazine runs day to day and contribute to its next chapter, including our first print edition.

The role brings together editorial research, digital creativity and analytical thinking. You’ll help us discover stories, develop our social presence and bring together people who share our interests.

What you’ll bring

· A strong visual sensibility and a thoughtful eye for detail.

· A real interest in art, design, culture and travel, with references and discoveries of your own.

· Fluent English, written and spoken.

· An analytical mind: you enjoy understanding why something works as much as how it looks.

· Organisation, initiative and the confidence to share your ideas.

Our work brings us into contact with artists, designers and people whose ways of seeing the world often surprise us. You’ll get a close look at that creative world, while learning the practical work behind publishing.

Where and how we work

We work in person two days a week from Soho House Barcelona and three days remotely. Additional days together are possible if preferred, arranged week by week.
