Junior Data Center Technician - Sovereign AI Infrastructure
Madrid, Spain | On-site | Shift rotation | Permanent
Open range base salary + early equity
¿Tiene lo que se necesita para triunfar? La siguiente información debe ser leída atentamente por todos los candidatos.
Our client is scaling a Sovereign AI infrastructure platform and is looking for multiple Junior Data Center Technicians to join their new Madrid team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build a career around the physical infrastructure behind AI - servers, racks, cabling, high-density compute, GPUs and cooling systems.
You do not need to be the finished article. This could suit someone with less than a year of hands-on experience in a data center, IT hardware, cabling, telecoms, field service, networking, electrical/mechanical work, or another practical technical environment.
What matters most is curiosity, reliability, pride in the details and a genuine appetite to learn.
Why it's worth a look
You'll be joining a site that is growing quickly and working around some of the most exciting infrastructure in the market, including GB200-class AI systems, future GPU platforms such as Vera Rubin, and direct liquid cooling.
You'll get exposure across the full physical layer rather than being boxed into one tiny part of the process. Over time, that means learning how modern AI compute environments are built, checked, supported, repaired and scaled.
There is also a real growth path. The company is early enough that strong juniors can grow quickly as the team, site and wider platform expand.
What you'll learn and support
You'll work closely with experienced technicians and engineers across areas like:
- Racking servers, switches and supporting equipment
- Running, dressing, labelling and checking copper/fibre cabling
- Supporting hardware installs, swaps and basic maintenance
- Helping identify failed parts such as drives, fans, PSUs, CPUs and boards
- Assisting with cable/link checks and physical fault tracing
You'll likely be a good fit if you have:
- Some practical technical experience, even if it is early-stage
- Confidence working with physical equipment, tools, cables and components
- A basic understanding of networking, cabling or computer hardware
- A careful, methodical approach when something is not working
- The confidence to ask for help rather than guess in a critical environment
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a shift team
- Availability for an on-site 8-hour shift pattern covering 24/7 operations
Helpful, but not essential
Data center exposure
Server, storage or network hardware experience
Fibre/copper cabling experience
GPU or liquid cooling exposure
Interest in troubleshooting, link testing, hardware diagnostics or AI infrastructure
For someone early in their career, this is a strong opportunity to get close to advanced AI infrastructure, learn from experienced engineers and build a long-term path in one of the fastest-growing areas of technology.
Unfortunately, visa sponsorship cannot be supported for this role.
