We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing technology team working on data-intensive, business-critical systems in the FX space. This role is suited to someone who enjoys building robust data platforms, solving complex engineering problems, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Role overview

You will design, build, and operate end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines, supporting data ingestion, transformation, validation, orchestration, and monitoring across large-scale environments. The role requires strong hands-on engineering skills across Python and Java, along with practical experience in AWS, Spark, Docker, and modern data workflows. You will also contribute to system design, production reliability, and the effective use of LLM-based development tools and agentic coding workflows.

Key responsibilities

- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows.
- Build and support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and orchestration processes.
- Work with big data technologies and analytical data storage formats.
- Develop reliable, production-ready solutions with strong attention to debugging and operational stability.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Use modern development practices, including AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows, to improve productivity and code quality.




- Support platform and infrastructure decisions where needed.

Required experience

- At least 6 years of professional experience.
- Strong experience in Python and Java.
- Practical experience with AWS services.
- Hands-on experience with big data tools, workflows, and frameworks such as Spark.
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong understanding of analytical data storage formats.
- Solid grasp of software engineering principles, system design, debugging, and production reliability.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with agentic coding workflows and LLM-based development tools.
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience working in FX.

Nice to have

- Experience with ClickHouse, QuestDB, or KX/kdb+.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with Kafka or other distributed messaging systems.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
