Referment is working with a European campaigning organisation to hire a Head of Communications to lead its communications strategy and help turn important social and policy issues into campaigns that engage people and drive meaningful action.

This is a remote role open to candidates based across Europe, with a preference for those located in Poland, Madrid or Italy. Occasional travel within Europe will be required.

This is a senior, hands-on position combining communications strategy, storytelling, media relations, content and partnerships. You’ll work closely with campaign teams and senior leadership while managing and developing a small communications function.

The role would suit someone who can set the strategic direction but is equally comfortable getting involved personally—whether developing a campaign narrative, pitching a journalist or working with creators and external partners.

- Identifying strong media angles and opportunities around campaign activity.
- Building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media organisations.
- Producing press releases, briefings and other media materials.
