As a z/OS Mainframe Storage Engineer, you will manage and optimize enterprise mainframe storage infrastructure supporting IBM z/OS environments. You will oversee disk, tape, backup, DR, capacity planning, replication, and storage software lifecycle, while driving automation and modernization. You will collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and application teams to ensure high availability and resilience of critical systems. This is a hands-on role at a large, regulated organization, offering impact through storage strategy, modernization, and cross-team delivery.

• Manage mainframe disk and storage administration including provisioning, restoration, and ongoing support
• Perform daily operations: health checks, incident management, monitoring, issue resolution
• Plan capacity expansions and infrastructure changes
• Configure and maintain storage resources for databases, VSAM files, work datasets, and sort spaces
• Administer and support storage products including CA Disk
• Install, test, and maintain storage hardware and software
• Handle z/OS hardware planning: IODF, LPAR, HMC
• Administer backup, recovery, archival, and disaster recovery solutions
• Use SMP/E and z/OSMF for software maintenance and deployment
• Manage storage volume allocation and utilization reporting
• Support disaster recovery testing and exercises




• Root cause analysis for storage incidents and preventive actions

• Automate repetitive storage tasks
• Design and support IBM zSeries storage architectures

Responsabilidades
• 8 to 15+ years of experience in Mainframe Infrastructure and z/OS Storage Administration
• Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS storage in large-scale enterprises
• Experience with IBM DS8000 storage (DS8870, DS8K) and DSCLI
• GDPS, PPRC Metro Mirror, DFHSM, DFDSS, ICKDSF, SMS
• z/OS IODF Administration, HMC, LPAR management
• Backup, recovery, disaster recovery solutions
• Experience with TS7720 Virtual Tape Systems and EMC DLm VTS
• Broadcom/Brocade storage networking and FICON connectivity
• SMP/E and z/OSMF for maintenance
• Experience with storage capacity management and reporting
• Experience in regulated industries (banking/financial services) preferred
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
