Senior Consultant – Renewable Energy / Technical Due Diligence

About the role

At MAI Group, we are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to join our renewable energy advisory team in Madrid.
The successful candidate will participate in and coordinate Technical Due Diligence, feasibility studies and technical advisory assignments for renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on solar PV and wind assets.
The role combines technical analysis, project management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams, supporting clients throughout project development, acquisition and investment processes.
You will work on projects covering different stages of development and will contribute to the technical, economic and financial assessment of renewable energy assets.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate and participate in Technical Due Diligence assignments for renewable energy projects.
Perform technical evaluations of projects at different stages of development.
Review project performance, technical design and development status.




Analyse key project contracts, including PPA, EPC and O&M; agreements.
Review financial models, technical assumptions and project economics.
Prepare and review Due Diligence and feasibility reports.
Perform and review Energy Yield Assessments (EYA).
Estimate and assess CAPEX, OPEX and LCOE.
Coordinate basic engineering activities and technical studies required during project development.
Participate in tender processes, including preparation of RFPs and technical evaluation of bids.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams involved in renewable energy projects.
Supervise transversal engineering activities during the design and development of projects.
Support the initial design phase and technical definition of renewable energy projects.
Manage several assignments simultaneously while ensuring quality and delivery deadlines.
