About the role
LAAGAM is an independent fashion brand based in Barcelona. We are looking for a Visual Merchandising Intern to support the weekly visual work across our stores.
This is a hands-on learning role. You will help prepare store-specific visual guides before launches, work on product displays and windows, and visit stores to compare the plan with the real execution and update it when stock or commercial priorities change.
You will work with Buying & Merchandising, Retail, Store Managers and Brand under the team’s supervision. This is an unpaid academic internship and you must be able to sign an internship agreement with a university or master’s programme before starting.
Weekly visual merchandising
- Support the preparation of pre-launch and weekly visual merchandising guides that explain what should be displayed, where, how and when.
- Translate drops, product priorities and the agreed visual direction into clear floor plans, compositions, reference images and store instructions.
- Update the guides during the season when stock, sales, launches or store needs change.
- Maintain an organised archive of visual plans, photographs, store feedback and the decisions made after each update.
Store-specific execution
- Adapt the central visual direction to each store’s space, layout, customer and product assortment instead of applying the same solution everywhere.
- Help the team build a simple store-clustering approach as LAAGAM’s retail network grows.
- Visit our stores regularly to review execution, photograph the result and help identify adjustments.
- Work with the visual contact in each store to answer questions, collect proposals and react to stock or product-performance changes.
Product display, styling and windows.
- Help create hanging sequences, complete looks, focal points and product combinations that are consistent with LAAGAM’s visual identity.
- Develop better ways to display bags and accessories using racks, pedestals, tables or integrated looks, depending on the store and the product.
- Support window concepts and in-store details such as signage, lighting, decoration, furniture and fitting-room presentation.
- Research references from fashion and retail, turn them into concrete proposals and explain why they fit LAAGAM.
Retail concepts and team support
- Support visual work for openings, pop-ups and store updates by preparing references, layouts and execution documents.
- Help create simple materials so store teams understand the collection, the styling proposal and how to maintain each display.
- Compare the planned layout with photographs and store feedback, document the differences and propose the next adjustment.
- Learn how visual decisions connect brand identity, product availability, customer behaviour and commercial performance.
What success looks like
- Visual guides are clear, practical and ready before each agreed launch or weekly change.
- The execution is recognisably LAAGAM while adapting to the space and product mix of each store.
- Displays are updated when stock, sales or commercial priorities change.
- Windows, bags and accessories are presented with a clear concept rather than as isolated products.
- Store feedback and visual decisions are documented and easy for the team to follow.
- You learn the visual system and take on recurring work with growing autonomy under supervision.
What we are looking for
- You are currently enrolled in a university degree or master’s programme related to Visual Merchandising, Fashion, Interior or Spatial Design, Architecture, Styling, Retail Design or a similar field.
- Your university or master’s programme can sign an internship agreement with LAAGAM. This is mandatory before starting.
- A portfolio or selection of work showing your visual judgement, spatial thinking, styling or retail projects.
- Strong interest in fashion, product presentation, windows and the relationship between space and customer experience.
- Able to communicate an idea through references, layouts, plans, photographs or presentations.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or Figma is useful. SketchUp, floor-planning or 3D tools are a plus, but not required.
- Organised, receptive to feedback and comfortable following up on several store updates at the same time.
- Professional fluency in Spanish, as the team works day to day in Spanish, and working English for international references and stores.
- Based in Barcelona and able to work regularly from the office and visit our stores.
What we offer
- An unpaid academic internship with a defined training plan, learning objectives and a company tutor.
- A university or master’s internship agreement is mandatory and must be signed before the internship starts.
- Duration and weekly schedule will be agreed with the education provider and must be compatible with your studies.
- Hands-on exposure to weekly visual merchandising, product styling, window concepts and store-specific retail work.
- The possibility of evolving into a full-time position based on your performance and the company’s needs. This is not an automatic conversion.
- Start date: as soon as possible.
