Under the direction of the Quality Engineer, this position is an independent resource to the operations area to inspect in vitro material, plugs, seedlings, supplies and materials, good practices; release and/or reject inspected materials.
ORGANIZATIONAL FIT:
This position reports to the Quality Engineer and collaborates with other team leaders at the nursery. It primarily supervises plants, supplies, order, cleanliness, and best practices implemented by internal and external workers, reporting any issues detected.
JOB SETTING:
Office and greenhouse setting. Evening and weekend may be required. Travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Inspect seedlings at different stages of the process according to technical specifications.
2. Verify compliance with good agricultural practices in the nursery.
3. Report any deviations found in the process.




4. Identify opportunities for improvement in the work area and participate in the root cause analysis of any deviations found.
5. Verify and monitor compliance with good hygiene and storage practices.
6. Prepare trial reports, quality certificates, and other documents requested by supervisors and/or functional managers.
7. Other general labor duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING
1.Technical or university studies, or demonstrable experience specializing in agriculture, agribusiness, food industry laboratories, or related fields.
2. Knowledge of inspection plans, sampling, and root cause analysis.
3. Knowledge of good agricultural practices and good hygiene practices.
4. Integrated pest management
5. Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office
