Description

Key Responsibilities

Transport & Transmission Network Planning

Design and plan new transmission and access rings.
Perform end-to-end routing and service planning for customer connections.
Allocate required ports, interfaces, and time slots.
Ensure efficient and technically appropriate connectivity between transport and access networks.
Optimise the utilisation of network resources and transmission capacity.
Monitor network capacity and identify current and future capacity constraints.
Analyse routing requirements and network-resilience needs.
Identify and implement technically appropriate solutions to address transmission-capacity constraints.
Plan transmission solutions based on DWDM/xWDM technologies.
Plan IP/Ethernet transport solutions according to service and network requirements.




Support TDM transmission planning where applicable.
Support optical and fibre transmission planning and network design.

Network Implementation & Commissioning

Create switching and implementation orders.
Prepare technical implementation and switching documentation.
Validate planning information prior to implementation.
Support network implementation and commissioning activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical queries during commissioning.
Support transmission-system testing, acceptance, and handover.
Coordinate with relevant engineering, operations, and implementation teams to ensure successful deployment.

Network Resilience & Capacity Management

Assess network topology, routing, and resilience requirements.
Ensure appropriate redundancy and protection mechanisms are considered during network planning.
Monitor transmission-network capacity and resource utilisation.
