Role Description The Data Center Architect is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, planning, and optimizing data center architectures that align with Obelinf’s platform capabilities and customer requirements. The individual will define end-to-end infrastructure designs, including networking, compute, storage, and security components, ensuring resilience, scalability, and adherence to best practices. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, creating reference architectures and design standards, and documenting data center topology and configuration for internal and external stakeholders.
The person in this position will review existing environments, perform gap analyses, recommend improvements,
and support implementation efforts with detailed technical guidance. This role also involves participating in technical evaluations, contributing to roadmap discussions, and supporting customer-facing teams with architectural expertise and solution validation.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Data Center Architecture and Solution Architecture, with the ability to design robust, scalable, and secure end-to-end environments.
- Hands-on experience with Data Center Infrastructure, including compute, storage, virtualization, and facility-related considerations (power, cooling, capacity planning).
- Proficiency in Networking, covering routing, switching, load balancing, firewalls, and software-defined networking concepts.
- Broad Infrastructure knowledge across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments, including infrastructure-as-code, automation, and observability tools.
- Experience creating architectural documentation, diagrams, and design standards for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning in data center contexts.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple initiatives, and collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications (e.g., data center, networking, cloud) are a plus.
