About Hola Spanish Market

Hola Spanish Market (HSM) is a boutique consultancy helping international FMCG brands enter, develop and grow in the Spanish market.

We work with international companies on Market Entry, Business Development, Route-to-Market, retail strategy and local market execution, combining strategic advisory with hands-on support in Spain.

As HSM continues to grow, we are looking for an International Business Development & Client Projects Associateto join our team in Madrid.

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining international business development, commercial execution, market analysis and client project delivery.

Working directly with HSM's Managing Director, you will support international brands developing their business in Spain: researching markets, identifying opportunities and potential partners, supporting relationships with retailers and distributors, coordinating projects and, most importantly, making sure things move forward.

This is not a purely administrative coordination role.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project or objective, organising the work required and following it through.

What will you do?

Business Development & Commercial Execution

- Identify potential retailers, distributors, partners and business opportunities in Spain.
- Research and contact relevant companies, buyers and decision-makers.
- Support commercial outreach and follow-up.
- Help develop opportunities with retailers, distributors and other partners.
- Support HSM's own business development activities.

Client Project Delivery

- Coordinate project activities, deadlines, meetings and follow-ups.

- Prepare and participate in client, retailer, distributor and partner meetings.
- Turn meetings into clear action plans and make sure agreed actions move forward.
- Coordinate client visits, partners and external stakeholders when required.
- Support Market Entry, Route-to-Market and business development projects.

Market Research & Analysis

- Conduct market, competitor, channel and partner research.
- Analyse information and turn it into clear findings and recommendations.
- Support partner mapping, retailer mapping and opportunity assessment.

Presentations & Project Tools

- Prepare client presentations, reports, analyses and meeting materials.
- Keep CRM and project information organised and up to date.
- Track actions, opportunities and next steps across different projects.

The person we're looking for:

You are someone who enjoys making things happen.

You are comfortable researching a market, contacting a potential business partner, preparing a client meeting and making sure the agreed actions actually happen afterwards.

You don't need to know everything from day one, but you should be curious, commercially minded, organised and comfortable working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.

We value initiative, ownership and common sense as much as previous experience.

Most importantly, you have strong follow-through.

When given an objective,

you are able to structure the work, identify the next steps, move things forward and flag blockers without waiting to be chased.

We like people who come back with:

“This is what I found, these are the options, this is what I recommend and these are the next steps.”

What are we looking for?

- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in international business, business development, FMCG, retail, consulting, sales, international trade or a related area.
- Degree in Business, International Business, Marketing, Economics or similar.
- Fluent Spanish and professional English.
- Strong commercial mindset and communication skills.
- Good analytical and research capabilities.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- Confidence contacting companies and decision-makers.
- Ability to manage different projects and priorities.
- Good PowerPoint / Google Slides and Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- Proactive, autonomous and willing to take responsibility.

Experience in FMCG, retail, internationalisation, Market Entry or the Spanish market will be highly valued.

What we offer

- Part-time position – 30 hours/week.
- Flexible hybrid working model in Madrid.
- Direct involvement in international Market Entry and Business Development projects.
- Exposure to international brands, retailers, distributors and senior decision-makers.
- Close collaboration with HSM's Managing Director.
- A role combining international business, commercial development and consulting.
- Responsibility and autonomy from an early stage.
- Opportunity to grow professionally as HSM continues to develop.
- Occasional travel and face-to-face meetings depending on client projects.
